Album Notes

Songs have an underlying dream imagery, the art work reflects this as well. The cover is a classic tunnel image that can help induce dreams and lucid dreaming. When we look at this kind of image, as we prepare to sleep, we focus on the center as we allow our mind to become clear of trivial thoughts and anxiety. This is one of the many things we can do to prepare to dream. This effort will help us become aware of our dreams, while in our dream state, and help us remember and understand them later.

Recreational Music offers a wide spectrum of sound, as well as insightful art, literature, and practices designed to stimulate the mind. The essence of being is vibration, what would we be without waves? Currently we are promoting “Songs for the Psyche” our own soothing waves written, recorded, and produced in our studio, this album contains sounds and imagery, having to do with dreams and lucid dreaming.

Dream-Influenced Soundscape
author: Mark Andel

In this new release, Adam Wayne Klazura creates a dream-influenced soundscape that recalls certain Pink Floyd numbers (“Comfortably Numb”) and the less-optimistic songs of Nirvana. Free-flowing, but clean and tight guitar rhythms coil around some nice percussive work, and the lyrics are economical and terse, seemingly influenced by the Imagists or Eastern-influenced poetry. “mirror image” begins with a fine acoustic Lennon-like melody that work in sync with lyrics that are also, like Lennon’s in some of his angrier compositions, no-holds-barred, tough, and unapologetic (“Yes it’s true, you’re a fool”). There is some nice throaty Cobain-style phrasing in the middle eight that leads to a primal scream type coda and close, much like Lennon’s “Mother.” And it’s significant that the scream is a plea to be awakened. “cosmos” features some gorgeous guitar work, with warm tones interspersed with crunchy notes, and the heavy reverb and repeated rhythms add dimension to the dream-like quality, as short vocal stanzas with concrete words (“rain,” “sky”) keep us on the brink of sleep and wakefulness, which is where true mindfulness happens. You can let yourself step off here. It’s a nice trip.
