Three multi-instrumentalist bedroom musicians (and life-long friends) created an album via email while each was in separate eastern-U.S. cities.
A drum beat was sent from Beacon, NY, to Portland, ME, where a guitar track was added, and sent on to Charlotte, NC, where it got a keyboard part... vocals, bass, etc. were added as a song emerged. Some songs started with bass, some with drums, guitar... each member started an equal amount of songs and passed them in different directions until they were done.
The result is Having Fun Without You, the first album from Red Abbott.
Songs to check out:
"The Spare Room" a laid back track, the music video of which was featured on MTV2UK.
"Black Ice" a sexy eletro-rock song for those chasing the oppo'sex.
"Dutchess County" a indie electro cross over with a driving beat and variety of lyrics and melodies.
