I saw the Tiny Desk Concert on NPR and I knew what to do-- I immediately came to CD Baby for more of the same awesome sounds. I prefer studio to live recordings, so I got this one. My only regret-- I wish that I could get a physical copy of the CD. I really prefer that to a download. I'm so excited for this new awesome work music to power through my dissertation with!!! Thank you.

The band artfully hybridizes Indian bhangra and something akin to New Orleans second-line funk. Jain leads the way on the double-headed Punjabi drum called the dhol, chanting terse phrases, shouting encouragement, and banging out the kind of snaky, propulsive beats...plus it's fun as hell.
