"Through much of the '80s and early '90s, the Redeemers had a head start on both the L.A. cow-punks and the later 'insurgent country' cats with their heady blend of rock and country and punk. Songwriter/frontman Mark Mansfield is the real deal
. . . ." Eric Brace, WASHINGTON POST
"Mark Mansfield is one of the only songwriters around to effortlessly stretch rock to its R&B and C&W roots while remaining engagingly melodic as the early Beatles."
Robert Hull, CREEM
"hillbilly, and garage moves wrapped around great original songs"
Joe Sasfy, CITY PAPER
"The Redeemers succeed on the same level that the first Romantics album did by evoking that early British invasion (pre-psychedelia) feel into their music. But they go further than the Romantics by also touching on garage-rock, '60s bubblegum and soul. Bobby Fuller Four, Booker T. and the MG's, the Dave Clark Five and the Knickerbockers come to mind . . . . Three live tracks show that the Redeemers are no mere retro-studio band . . . they can cut it live! The Redeemers play with infectious abandon . . . !"
EAR CANDY

Retro garage, popabilly rock with sock hop keyboards and edge.
author: dale nickey
Take a break from the ghastly present. Look back to a time when B/W TV,American cars, and vox organs ruled the earth. Leader Mark Mansfield is a human jukebox of American popabilly, garage, and psych-lite styles. Throw the Standells, Bobby Fuller, The Seeds, ? Mark and the Mysterians, and Neil Sedaka into a food blender with a full cup of nightsweat and a dash of heartbreak. You get "She Rocks All Night And Day". 1-6-4-5 in perpituity!!!

Rockin retro rock !
author: Laura T. Lynch of Kweevak.com
The Redeemers are four veteran musicians based out of Virginia. Their sound is a blend of many retro sounds including early British invasion, garage rock, country, surf, folk and soul. The Redeemers pay tribute to many historical rock sounds but are enhanced by modern production. There are a variety of moods and styles to be found on their latest 17-track release. Their music is fun and the use of horns and duel guitars on some of the tracks adds another dimension to their work. ‘Get It On Down’ is a rockin’ track with fast and furious guitars. ‘Soul’ has a good feel and good guitar leads. ‘I’ve Got It Bad’ is soulful and sung with lots of feeling. She Rocks ‘n’ Rolls All Night & Day is an eclectic mix of well-crafted songs that should appeal to rock historians.

The mark of the Romantics and Stray Cats!
author: "Crash"
This CD certainly brings flavor back from the good ol' 60's rock-n-roll era, high energy, and tight arrangements. It is a good thing that it appears that more than one band member sings to add harmony because the vocals are adequate at best. Look beyond that and this is a timeless master-piece of yester-year back when rock made you roll!

"Anybody out there ever read the hype on 'fun' bands...swallowed it, then were disappointed when you realized you'd had more fun playing computer solitaire earlier that day? I was prepared for more of the same when I unwrapped this item by a Virginia quartet...--Wrongo! These guys actually play with some juice--particularly Mark Mansfield or organ, who sounds like he's on monkey gland shots--hearkening back to ? and to Buddy Holly. Great guitar, too. Even after the first two songs won me over, I was still ready to wince on 'High School Love,' even if it was funny. Wrong again--it's actually one of my favorites on the record. Check 'em out live, and buy the record, too...way more fun than solitaire, bingo, or your little town's local heroes, I'll bet."
