ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
...Redeye Carl is but one of the many great great great grandsons of gulf coast pirate, Jean Laffitte. Born on west bay just inside san luis pass and raised on speckled trout, flounder, redfish, and the abundant fresh shrimp and local oyster beds of the area.
...Redeye Carl was schooled on the streets of Houston just off telephone road, graduated the University of Houston, and now sails a ship of music all around Texas and beyond under the flag of RC & the Pirates.
...Their sound is gulf coast unique and their performances verify their salty roots. Gamble on the pirates and the riches of dance and notes will be yours!!!

Digital distribution is our trot-line in cyberspace where these hooks never need re-baiting. It doesn't get any cooler than that... now after 32 years of pulling and plucking strings we can see and hear a 4th cd upon the horizon...

many thanks to all our friends, the true wind behind our sail ...

c ya'll soon,

The Lords Prayer Song
I met Carl through Mando Alaniz and I have to say this is only one of my favorites , they are all great. I love the way you express your words and the beat of the music just makes you want to let your hair down and dance around with that fresh feelin of just being free.. after only listening to your CD ,I finally caught your show at bohemeo's and can't wait to see you in Corpus in November again. Keep it comming !

Red Eye Carl is a gulf coast gem, unique songwriter, and a gentleman!
Ive heard this recording in its many stages,
and I must say that the songs are quite original,
and surpising in many ways. Carl and his songs
set out to represent Carls family history
and the Texas gulf coast sound. I say Carl
reaches his goals and sets himself in the
position to reach new ones. Way to go my friend!

Carl DeCuir's guitar playing is, as always, expressive.
Carl DeCuir's guitar playing is, as always, expressive. His unique voice makes for a great CD to keep on the juke box. I like to call it blues/gulf coast/ice house music. It's great for playing a game of pool in a open door setting or for just chilling in our Texas summer heat.

I am hoping to see an instrumental DOUBLE CD come out in the future. DOUBLE - because I know I'll end up wanting to hear more!

"Passion Blues" and the beginning riff of "Gotta Go" are my favorites on this CD. :)
