I have to admint that I was afraid of what RED HALO would sound like without Damon Johnson. I was surprised to hear that they still sound the same(some re-recorded songs)and I think the vocals are very strong.

I was a bit hesitant without Damon singing. But the re-recorded versions sound great. I can't understand why these guys aren't bigger. If it weren't for Brother Cane and Damon's involvement, I never would have heard. Now I am hooked.

Marchants vocals are better than Damons. I was not a fan of the Dead Mans Vitamin EP, but this self-titled CD is good all of the way through. The best songs are Last Time, Save Me, Ride of my Life, and Sex Love ? I was at the chevelle show Jon was talking about (below) and Red Halo killed (that is good!) This CD is worth buying. If JD left RED Halo for The Deadline he will regret it soon because The Deadline will not go anywhere. Jon all of these guys are professional musicians (atlantic records is the real deal!). Until 50 dollars get to their level, your trying to be hurtful opinions will not mean a thing .... you act like someone from the band has hurt your feelings ... Marchant maybe ?

Rebuttals to bones boy's messageboard-like review
author: http://www.fiftydollars.ws/
Rebuttals to bones boy's thoughts on my review, listed below:
1. True, Marchant's vocals weren't annoying in Virgos Merlot, Virgos, or the Devine, because Marchant did not sing in either Virgos Merlot or the Devine, and he wasn't even in Virgos.
2. Opinions of subject matter should affect one's opinion of the music in general, unless one commpletely ignores the lyrics, which comprise half of the artistic statement in question.
Update: Red Halo are no more. JD Charlton left the band to pursue his career with theDeadline full-time. Why did he leave? Ask someone how well Red Halo was received when they opened for Chevelle at Sloss Furnace.
