Red on Red was formed a few years ago when a few friends’ paths collided. All members of the band share the same dream, to rock out original songs on stage over and over again. Unashamed of their garage band beginnings songs like ‘Just a little bit further’ and ‘Rat Race’ remind them of where the heart and soul of the band began.
Red on Red have played various shows across Australia some highlights include having the song Reflection make the top 100 in the Rock category of the music oz awards and included in the Riot on Sunset Compilation CD in LA .The band also made the State finals of the global battle of the bands and the Emergenza Festival and had one of their newest songs make the top 10 of the Triple M unsigned find comp against hundreds of other Aussie songs. Their diverse melodies range from a hurricane experience to grass watching soul searching tunes, a tonic for the soul which has seen the band attract a broader audience.
In 2008 after a shaky start (see redonred.com.au) Red on Red took to the studio to produce their self titled EP. Released in Mid 2009 these five fresh tracks continue to propel the band into the hearts and heads of alternative rock fans everywhere. After a stack of live performances Red on Red are back in the studio writing a heap of new songs which should keep them busy throwing more fresh stuff into the set list and definitely crank up the show a notch or two during 2010.
With a new addition to the band in late 09, Mick a guitarist from Adelaide adds his finger licking flavor and transforms Red on Red to a 5 piece band. On bass Justin’s fingers do the walking, driving rumbling shock waves across the crowd. Guitarist Jonesy brings his flavour a “new edge”. His stage performance is inspired from the combination of U2's (the edge) and the head banging from Angus Young (AC/DC). On Drums Andrew is the steam engine pushing. He takes the band from platform to platform. Finally lead vocals: Bonnie her inimitable flair for music allows for true excitement, while simultaneously fostering familiarity with the audience. Her maiden speech and passion brings a dynamic contrast between light and dark.
Red on Red's band influences to name a few consist of Paramore, Evanescence, 30 Seconds to Mars, U2, Flyleaf, Foo Fighters, POD, Led Zeppelin, Dido, Velvet Revolver, Good charlotte, Muse, Linkin park, Switchfoot, Anberlin, Jimmy eat world and AC/DC.
