Eclectic Blend of Song Styles
author: Annette
Song styles seem to switch from one song to the next for the first 3-4 songs. However, the music comes easy. The band is obviously comfortable with each other/what they're doing. Some of the lyrics are a bit daring, but not in a way that would turn off the listener. The overall genre is somewhat reminiscent of early 70s (pre-disco). All in all, a good listen.

A quirky, melodic introduction to a competent jam-band
author: Lawrence Foster
From the opening songs boogie woogie style piano to the creative word-play of Buckster's social status observations on song #11, this CD was a great gift. Song #7 - Cherlyndra - is a perfect showcase for Buckster's guitar wizardry. What is needed are more harmonies like those from song #5 (These Days). For what it's worth, "Por Muchos Anos" lured both my cats out of hiding where they began to dance an odd little feline tango before knocking over a table lamp and shredding a pillow that the dog was napping on. The instrumental tune "Anxiety" is often a show opener for these fellows - and is definitely more powerful LIVE. In my humble opinion, it is the tune "Nothing Whatsoever" that truly demonstrates the multi-layered groove thing that these guys have developed. And also why Scott is such a major player in this combo. Nice work boys! Keep up the focus!

Diverse and infectious! A real treat.
author: Red Rubber Fan
This debut offering from Red Rubber Band really shows the diverse tastes and talents of the band. They deliver on so many genres it becomes hard to describe what they do, but this variable quality also keeps you engaged, and they simply defy pigeonholing. A "varied sonic landscape" is how I've heard it described and I think that fits perfectly. The band is rock-solid, with sharp arrangments, top-notch musicianship and red hot solos from their guitarist and keyboardist. And their lyrical content is at once poignant and earthy. While essentially considered a jamband, they also showcase their skills with tightly arranged rock, funk and pop influenced pieces. This CD is absolutely killer and is a MUST-HAVE for any rock enthusiast.
