Album Notes

Three PhD economists formed a band in the 1970s to explain to the world that which they could not in the class-room. Although they have gone on to careers more or less within the economics profession, their radical legacy lives on. The two albums ever made by Red Shadow, "Live At The Panacea Hilton" (1975) and "Better Red" (1978) are now both available on one CD. The albums have not been simply transferred from one medium to another. The sound has been enhanced by digital processing. The original words, music and spirit are now available with the crispness and clarity of 21st century recording methods.

I picked the 1st record sometime in the 80's at a goodwill. I was to say the least amazed, I listened to it day in and day out for a long time, since 90 or so I listened to it a few times a year. In 2001 I exchanged E-mails with some of the members and bought the second one. I got a poster and the second LP, I've never opened the LP but the poster is above my computer. I for some reason could never open it and listen, I don't know why, I think I've been afraid that it wouldn't be as good as the first? Anyways I'm going to buy the compilation.

I listened to this record when I was a little kid and loved it. I loved it so much that I had to find it as an adult. It still rings true to me.

I sang back up on the song Stagflation back in the 70's. The song "Movement Lovers" brings tears to my eyes. This CD is about hope and the human spirit. Still timely.
