About The Band:
The members of Minneapolis, MN based Red Veda share a great love and respect for the old school spirit of blues, jazz, and rock improvisation, and fuse this foundation with fresh musical ideas that borrow from funk, soul, latin, and more. Red Veda's vision, however, goes beyond mere genre blending and instead looks to weave their honed improvisational ability with artful, catchy, and soulful songwriting that is uncharacteristic of most jamming-oriented bands.
Red Veda strives to push the envelope of the soul/R&B/funk/blues format by approaching it in their own way – one that’s very hard to categorize. Plainly stated, Red Veda doesn’t sound like other bands of their typically pigeon-holed genre, and because of that they are spreading excitement across a broad swath of younger music fans eager to hear the untapped capabilities of this kind of line-up. And for fans of stellar musicianship, they continue to be an electrifying band to see live.
About The Musicians:
Red Veda was founded in the spring of 2005 by Anthony Arrigo (now playing guitar after a stint behind the drum kit) who had moved from Pittsburgh PA, to the Twin Cities to finish a Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota. Now, after several iterations of musicians, Red Veda has settled on a scorching lineup of all-star talent:
Todd Burrell - has played and recorded with many bands including Minneapolis legend Prince.
Aaron Zepplin - has been with the band from the beginning and joined Red Veda shortly after moving back to the Twin Cities from San Diego. Aaron is the guitar guru who serves his name pedigree and music degree from the University of Wisconsin well by tossing out tasteful morsels of guitar licks and scintillating solos.
Marsia Guerra - has the powerful, soulful voice that Anthony says “is the voice I’ve been looking for all my life, but no-one, until now, has been able to sing the music the way I’ve heard it in my head. Marsia can do it -- and better!”
Robert Seekins - is fresh off his music degree in bass performance from Augsburg College and injects a lock-down groove into the rhythm section.
Kielo - brings his Nashville session player and R&B band experience to the drums that keep the rhythm section groovin' and in the pocket.
