Top-notch exposition of impassioned blues.

The NRP are a tight-knit trio that generate high calibre material. Nobby's evocative vocals are delightful, this coupled with his guitar virtuosity combine to provide a feast of soulful, relaxing music. Moonlight Drivin' is another quality CD that showcases Nobby's considerable talent. How the NRP have not received greater recognition globally is a mystery to me.

I have known Nobby Reed for more than 20 years and have watched this talented musician evolve to what he is today. I recently purchased Moonlight Drivin' and see Nobby delve into his music in such greater depth than ever before. The two songs that stick out the most are Learn To Love and Follow Your Heart. In Learn To Love I could not believe the wild slide and harmony guitar playing in the background. In addition, there are Nobby's influences displayed: Carlos Santana, Dickey Betts, Jeff Beck and Roy Buchanan to name a few. Ever since I first met him, he has played and sang his heart out. I encourage anyone to purchase cd or any of his others, his performance is honest and backed solidly by Eric Belrose on Drums and Tim Comings on bass.

It always amazes me how much great music is out there that you never hear about because the group doesn't have the look or the industry feel that there isn't an audience for the music. Well down in Swanston, Vermont there is a great three piece blues band by the name of the Nobby Reed Project who has just released their sixth independent CD entitled Moonlight Drivin'.
If you are a fan of the blues and the great guitar players of the 60's and 70's, then don't miss out on this one. These guys are bad and really enjoy playing which is obvious once the opening track "Moonlight Drivin' begins to heat up the speakers. Not only are these guys great musicians but Nobby is not a bad singer, very sincere and passionate about his craft, which is really showcased on "Only You". Homages to great guitar players are incorporated on this release with much respect like the Santana-ish "Morning Glory" and the Jeff Beck salute called "JB".
Listening to this CD I really got the impression that these guys must be on fire when they put on a live show because the energy between them is unquestionable. I would pay anything to hear these guys play the wonderful ballad "I Wish You Peace" and that ten minute low down version of "Worried Man" where Nobby really digs deep inside of his soul to deliver gritty blues vocals.
Exciting and earthy in its' grittiest-soul-shaki-electric-blues form, Moonlight Drivin' will make a blues believer out of you, as it has done to me. All Hail Nobby Reed Project.
