Dance for Joy! -- Reel of Seven: Live at Asilomar

Dancing is about joy – pure exhilaration and unbounded delight. Reel of Seven is pleased to present “Dance for Joy” – a blend of traditional and modern music for Scottish Country Dancing. The band hopes you love dancing to this music as much as they love making it!

Reel of Seven is Deby Benton Grosjean, Janet Kurnick, Patty van Winkle, Susan Worland (fiddles), Renata Bratt (cello), Shelley Phillips (oboe, flute, penny whistle), Gary Campus (percussion), and Andy Imbrie (piano and band leader). Each member of this outstanding group has been playing Celtic music for years; each have released their own recordings or been featured in other groups, but this is the first time they have recorded together. The result is a high energy blend of traditional and modern tunes arranged to take advantage of the multi-faceted talents of this large band. The excitement of the dancers in this live recording is evident as Reel of Seven leads them, and the listener, to “Dance for Joy”!

Recorded live November 1, 2008 at the Kim McGarrity Memorial Ball at Asilomar.
