Deeply soulful vocals, surrounded by brilliant musicians – they travel from straight-forward blues- and roots-rock, to full-bodied gospel or 30’s-era vaudeville swing to raw rock and roll a la Hendrix and Beatles.

Album Notes

“I’m trying to make people laugh, cry, think, love, whatever. As long as people feel something then I think I’ve done my job”

A curious musical duality exists in the young artist Reeve Carney. At face value, his personality exudes a childlike wonder – personal, sincere, and almost polite. But when the music starts and Reeve digs in, his confident, informed musicianship and deeply soulful vocals command the stage with undeniable strength and passion.

With unassuming grace, Reeve’s music conveys an air of sophistication and worldliness beyond his years. His lyrics evoke a sense of familiarity, romance, and humor, while the music itself takes its inspiration from just about every page of the 20th century American songbook. In a given night with Reeve Carney & The Revolving Band, one can hear everything from straight-forward blues- and roots-rock, to full-bodied gospel or 30’s-era vaudeville swing.

Saw Reeve at the Paramount in Seattle. Reeve was playing guitar for Jonny Lang and Reeve Carney & the Revolving Band was opening the show. He was very impressive and I hope to hear much more from him in the future.

Reeve is even better than the record. I think his best work is yet to come. I am very interested in watching him develop. I can't help but compare him to Buckley, although I like reeves songwriting sryle more than Buckley's.

My wife and saw Reeve perform at the House of Blues as the 2nd billing for Johnny Lang... We'd nver heard of the guy - after hearing him and his band, we wondered, who was this amazing talent and why had we never heard of him? A truly beautiful, polished and unique sound, like nothing I've heard.

I was exposed to Reeve, when he opened solo, for Jonny Lang here in Vegas at the HOB. He was something very refreshing, a skilled musician and a gifted songsmith with a passion in his voice. Not only did he have a great set, he played with Jonny's band as well. In addition, he was a genuinely nice guy. I wanted to have his music to play and to expose others to, so I am happy this CD and DVD are available. It's a great live set and I can only imagine based on this, how great his shows with the full Revolving Band are. It's one very talented family. Check out this CD. It's eclectic and well worth a listen!
