Album Notes

Reggie started his progression in music over 30 years ago. Raised on r&b and rock & roll, Braxton turned to jazz during high school. He received a scholarship to Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida; where he earned a degree in Music Education.

Reggie spent a few years teaching music in the Netherland Antilles on the islands of St.Maarten and St. Eustatuis. During this time he performed regularly with Latin and South America style bands.

1984 began a teaching career for Mr. Braxton. For 20 years he taught in the Newport News Public School system before relocating in 2004. During this time he developed several band programs at the middle and high school levels. Mr. Braxton served 6 years as Director of Bands at Heritage High School; a magnet school for mass communication, engineering and technology. His bands consistently earned excellent and superior ratings at competitions and festivals. In 2002, Reggie turned his emphasis from teaching music to teaching Radio Broadcasting, Studio Recording, and TV Production at Heritage High School where he developed a media program. He served in this department until June 2004.

In 2004 Reggie moved to Caracas, Venezuela; where he worked as Director de Produccion for TBN Enlace Venezuela Television, and later as an independent music, radio , and television producer . He then moved to Queretaro, Mexico where he continued his teaching and independent productions. He holds a Masters degree in Multimedia and Film Production and conducts international workshops and seminar on Sound Production, TV Production and Worship Seminars. He is also CEO of DeJAHRe Multi-Media Productions which has repeatedly taken him to Mexico, the islands of Indonesia, Bali, Cuba, Jakarta, Java, Lumbok, Singapore, Sumatra, Suriname, Venezuela and Africa.

Braxton's latest music project "Viaje" is a snapshot of musical styles from around the world. Each track takes you to a different location. "I've been fortunate to have lived, traveled, and worked in many countries. "Viaje"; which means travel/voyage represents the musical styles I experienced during this voyage".

"Viaje" features musical influences from Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, and the U.S.A. The songs used range from CCM,R&B, Smooth Jazz, Son, and traditional South American songs. Each song is weilded by a group of outstanding musicians and producers that worked to give that special sound needed for that style.

Currently, Reggie is in Silver Spring, Maryland where he is working for ITI/HUD TV as Producer/Director , and Discovery Channel as an Avid editor. 2007 will begin a series of trips throughout Africa for various projects with S. M. R. I., as well as returning to Venezuela and Mexico.
