Album Notes

About Reggie Foster Jr.

A throwback to the days of the musician, Reggie showcases his skills in great arrangements, chord changes and catchy rhythms. You will not only want to listen to his music but you will want to experience him live and in person.

A native of Gary, Indiana, Reggie Jr. is the oldest of seven siblings. He was raised in a Pentecostal church family background, and born into a musical family where his parents, brothers and sisters all began as exceptional musicians and vocalists. Reggie embarked on a musical voyage as a very young child. His talents are truly a gift from God. Reggie began playing professionally at the age of 20, and over the next 10 years has provided his different flava to numerous gospel professional recordings, such as Ricky Dillard, Carlis Moody, SWV (Saints With A Vision), Tyrone Block/LSD, Ty Tribbet, Doug Williams of the Williams Brothers, James Greer, Karen Clark Sheard, and various other artists. He has also performed in concert with Kelly Price, Nick Colione, Marian Meadows and Mike Manson. Reggie also has other accomplishments under his belt, including performing the national anthem for the Chicago Bulls and teaming with Chicagoland Icon WNUA 95.5 with Ramsey Lewis in various jazz venues. In January 2003, Reggie hit a very difficult point in his life when he suffered the loss of his very good friend and brother John Foster. Johnny also musically inclined, was a nationally known organist. Through this loss, he was deeply inspired to accomplish a vision he and his brother often talked about-writing and producing what made them feel free...music. Later that year, the vision resulted in the release of his debut album "Different Levels".

"Pretty Wife" is a tribute to any woman that is loved by her man, while "Johnny's Song" pays tribute to his beloved brother. "Hangin' with Yasha" is a fusion of funk, jazz and be-bop, a pure treat of all these sounds co-existing within one song. And the self-titled single, "Different Levels," explains what the album expresses as a whole. When it comes to Smooth Jazz, Reggie Foster is on a totally different level in regards to his compositions and arrangements. This is what sets him apart from other musicians out there. He takes from a range of inspirations and creates a sound that is beyond Smooth Jazz. You don't listen to Reggie, you experience him.
