This CD is a collection of nine new, original straight-ahead and jazz ballad tunes composed by Reg and improvised in a variety of combo settings - quartet, quintet, sextet - that comprise piano, bass, drums, vibes, flute, jazz guitar, etc.

Reg Clair plays tenor sax and flute and composes music. He has played with Tom Kubis, Cecilia Coleman and others and has gigged around clubs in Orange County and played jazz in collegiate and professional big bands. This debut album features nine new jazz tunes (Ballads, Bossa, and Bop).The tunes were selected from jam session recordings featuring Reg and various sidemen playing in intimate small combo settings. All of the tunes on the CD were written by Reg. Most of them reflect some personal experience including "Golden West" in honor of the junior college of that name for the great music program they have there.
A brief description of each track follows:
1. "Close To Romance". Bebop. Rhythm section, flute, jazz guitar. Reg plays melody on first and last chorus. Guitar takes solo.
2. "Song For A Girl Named Phil". Jazz Ballad. Rhythm section, vibes, jazz guitar, strings. Vibes on first and last chorus. Guitar takes solo.
3. "Golden West". Bebop. Rhythm section, vibes, jazz guitar. Vibes on first and last chorus. Guitar takes solo.
4. "Nate The Great". Bebop. Rhythm section, flute, vibes, jazz guitar, strings. Vibes on first and last chorus. Reg takes solo.
5. "Miss Delight". Slow swing ballad. Rhythm section, flute, jazz guitar. Reg plays melody on first and last chorus. Guitar takes solo.
6. "Watkins! Where Are You?". Bebop. Rhythm section, flute, jazz guitar,strings. Guitar plays melody on first and last chorus. Reg takes solo.
7. "Lunar Ascension". Bebop. Rhythm section, jazz guitar. Guitar plays throughout.
8. "Sweet Nicole". Swing Ballad. Rhythm section, jazz guitar, strings. Guitar plays throughout.
9. "Minor's Heaven". Jazz Bossa. Rhythm section, flute, guitar, strings. Reg takes solo.
