Reid Miller Music Biography

In his youth Reid Miller listened to relatives and family friends tell and sing beside the fire and around the kitchen table. He began singing at home, on car trips, in school and church. A cousin gave him a harmonica. He bought a dulcimer at a pawn shop. A friend gave him a dusty banjo. He went forward from there, adding guitar, mandolin, jaw harp, psaltery, spoons, washboard and more.

His credits include Wolf Trap, American Players Theater and a huge host of venues and events across America. A young listener said, “I wish you lived in my town, so you could sing and play for me every day.” A teacher wrote, “Thank you for sharing your songs and stories. They enrich my students’ lives, and my grandchildren love them, too.” The Press acclaimed him, “Must see! Critic’s Choice! and One of America’s best folk performers!”
