Reina Collins' Kitchen Sink offers versions of some of her favorite songs - old & new - plus three originals. Mixing folk, country and rock into an appealing blend, instrumentation includes acoustic & electric guitars, mandolin, keyboards, accordion, banjo, harmonica, drums & percussion. Bringing together ultra-talented musicians from the Rocky Mountain region and beyond, Kitchen Sink has something for everyone. If you're looking for a cd for your next road trip, dinner party or house cleaning day, this is it!
Reina began singing professionally in the 80's and has enjoyed a musical career of performing, recording & touring from Florida to Southern California & throughout the Rockies. She draws from influences including folk, classic rock & country as well as traditional & brazilian jazz. The completion of Kitchen Sink at the end of 2003 was achieved with the help of singer/songwriter/producer Ben Winship. (Ben, mandolinist extraordinaire of Kane's River & the Fishing Music project, has played with Sam Bush, Peter Rowan, Tony Furtado---check out his website at www.benwinship.com).

Reina's voice reminds me of a mountain stream - completely natural, and depending on the terrain it can flow, sparkle, swirl or roar. She is a pro with a lot to offer. On stage she is an engaging performer and her rich tone and relaxed atttitude make her my first call for studio work.

Reina has a mellow but soulful voice, pensive but
expansive, with a color like deeply polished wood.

Reina and producer Ben Winship assembled the songs that highlight the veteran singer's clear voice and its range of style. Because her voice is at the forefront of all the songs, she sounds close to the listener, creating and intimacy between the singer and audience. Collins has a song for every mood and they all carry with them the earnestness of a woman singing about life.

Kitchen Sink is on it's fourth run as I type this. Reina's voice is like silk.

Like a warm bed on a cold morning......
author: D. Looney-Grace
Reina Collins Kitchen Sink is like a warm bed on a cold morning....hard to leave. From first track to last, Reina's clear and lovely voice envelopes the listener in aural bliss. The melodies, provided by some of the best musicians in the Northwest, are a perfect accompaniment. Personal favorites are
Backyard Diamonds, a Reina Collins original composition ( one of three on the CD), and covers of Gillian Welch's Tear My Stillhouse Down and Woody Guthrie's Way Over Yonder In The Minor Key. I have given this CD as gifts to several people close to me, and all have loved it. You can't go wrong on this one.
