Album Notes

The name "Reism" is taken from Reification, which means " regarding something abstract as a material thing." The music of Reism is a fusion of gothic industrial electronic rock. The combination of heavy guitar riffs, live electronic drums, dirty synths, and soaring vocals make for an interesting and complex musical experience.

Reism's debut album "Lifestyle Product" contains 11 tracks with songs ranging from the hauntingly gothic "I Will Fall" to the hard rocking "Something Useful." Lifestyle Product defines and delivers what electronic rock is all about.

Formed whilst at music school in Liverpool, England, Reism is comprised of 3 main members:

Joe Cochrane originates from Ventura, California and contributes drums, programming and commerical-minded production.

Tom Poole-Kerr comes from Somerset, England and brings guitars, programming and non-comformist producing to the process.

Finally, Kirsten Jorgensen, from Skuneshavn, Norway, adds her haunting and powerful voice.

REVIEWS

A strong effort. Very good!!

REISM are a Liverpool based band fronted by a Norwegian Lass called Kirsten. I have seen a review of some Reism material in an English Rock Zine, but it seems the review referred to a 12 minute EP by this band. I actually have the full length CD, This is a another independent band worthy of one's attention, and this is a good effort. I read the Powerplay review as suggesting that Reism sound like Evanescence. Cannot quite see it myself, but it seems all female fronted bands pick up these Evanescence comparisons. That puzzles me a wee bit. Back to the cd in question. 'Lifestyle Product' is gothic rock/metal with electronic elements. The cd plods along with 'Nothing to Lose' being a good un, with a heavy guitar 'bit' in the middle. I also enjoyed 'Burn Brighter', which reminds me a little in places of Avril Lavigne, 'Waiting' and 'Any Other Way. In-fact I find Kirsten's voice quite captivating throughout. Reism is another good gothic indie band worthy of your support

Reism's CD "Lifestyle Product" was one who's arrival was much anticipated on my part. When the disc arrived at my door, I made a furious bee line to my computer with it. I was already familiar with a few songs from the CD, but I wanted more. Many of the female-fronted bands in the indie department rarely last in attempts to be cheap imitations of bands like Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, Rhea's Obsession or Collide. In this case, the only cheap thing about Reism is the cost of the CD. From start to finish, Reism showed an innovation that is nothing short of fearless. From Kirsten Jorgensen's multifaceted vocal talent, Joseph Cochrane's punishing drums and Tom Poole's edgy guitars, the work and effort shines through wonderfully in this CD. All talent and skill noted, the tracks switch gear in emotion, ranging from the angry "What I See" to the somber "Any Other Way" and never lacking in quality. At the CD's finish, one evident point will remain; This Band Is Going Places And Quickly! Unlike most others imitators within the genre, their sound is smooth, crisp and clear and maintains the edge that is lacking with most in the mainstream today. Long story short, this disc is nothing short of flawless. Lord Genocyde's Recommendation: What the hell are you doing still reading this, go get your copy now!!!
