The Reluctants formed in the year 2002 as a result of the disintegration of two previous bands from Seattle and Atlanta. The members are Darren Gallagher on vocals/guitar/keys, Dirk Lebsack on vocals/drums/keys, and Josh Woods on vocals/bass/keys/The trio have been friends since childhood and grew up playing together in Idaho before splitting East and West after college. The music ranges from indie pop to high energy alt country with some disco thrown in...very enjoyable in a live setting.

TEASE! Every listening minute is bliss and leaves you wanting more.
author: Jamie Dillon
The words 'nirvana' and 'sublime' come to mind, although both have been used by other big-time musicians. While the sound is unique, the Reluctants earn their right to hang their melodic hats with these or any other attention-grabbing Left Coast bands (and likely won't self destruct while doing it). Egos Ahoy's syncopated, so-complex-it-sounds-simple rhythms keep you tuned in for every second and offer an entirely new perspective from their prior release, Rodeo Sauvignon. If you have Black Happy's Peghead or The Vines, The Killers, Green Day or the like in your collection, then drop everything and pick up Egos Ahoy. The only drawback you'll find? Seven songs just barely whets the whistle. You'll be left needing more of the Reluctants -- much, much more.
