Album Notes

What Remainz is the musical ideology and creation founded by Damen Perry aka St. Demon in 1999. Damen Perry's music has made an impact on the underground music scenes all across the US, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden. By fusing together the darkest elements of his favorite types of music from the beats of the west coast rap scene in the early 90's to the goth themes found in industrial metal, Damen has created a style of music that has been referred to as "if Dr. Dre and Nine Inch Nails had a baby."

The debut CD, "Beyond the Gate: Genesis 51" was recorded mainly on a 4-track cassette recorder while he lived in Huntington Beach, California for a period of six months and the rest of the disk was finished at his home in Pomona, California where he was a life long resident until 2002. He had no intention on releasing this CD in its current format due to the fact that he was working in various recording studios in Los Angeles at the time and wanted to rerecord these "demos" at those studios on their gear. A friend convinced Damen to let people hear these songs and share his music and the rest is history.

Due to the unexpected success of "Beyond the Gate: Genesis 51" Damen was offered various production and recording deals that he ultimately rejected because he refused to tone down or censor his lyrics or music. To help further get his music released as well as his other artistic endeavors, Damen founded his own production company called Beyond the Gate Productions. These songs on "Beyond the Gate: Genesis 51" are what remainz of his first trip into his own personal darkness that in turn opened the gates on this up-and-coming music producer/engineer/artist/painter and writer.

* Damen plans on taking What Remainz fully live after he finds the right musicians to complete the circle.

* The new disk, "The Macabre Renaissance" will be out in 2007 on his Beyond the Gate Productions label as well as "Beyond the Gate: rEvolution" which is a rebuilt version of the debut disk, "Beyond the Gate: Genesis 51"

* Damen founded HaloSik (check this project out at www.cdbaby.com/halosik), a heavy metal project whose debut CD was released in 2003.

* The Laguna Beach Gallery is currently featuring one of Damen's paintings (Blue Oblivion) on their website (www.lagunabeachgallery.com/maingallery.html).
