Album Notes

Deftly, with the sensitivity for which he is known, Rene creates exquisite melodies from the heart. His third CD, Poet of the Heart, blends the sweet nuances of poetry embraced by the beauty of music to convey the timelessness of love. Inspired by the overwhelming nature of true love, Rene's music reaches into the heart of the listener to reawaken yearnings and remembrances of love.

From youth's first, tender declarations of affection to the most enduring of relationships, Rene celebrates the full spectrum of love's evolution. The processes at the very essence of love - the cherishing, nurturing, hallowing, and affirming are wholly embodied in the beautiful compositions of Rene's newest collection. The resonant tones of acoustic piano and cello sing the perfect compliment to love's refrain as they unveil the many faces of love.

The depth of spiritual homage is felt as the sacred divinity of Pax Vobiscum flows into the sweet purity of Ave Maria. As Joie de Vivre exalts the love of real life, A Hero's Tale takes us back to the fairy tale love of our childhood dreams.

Then, gracefully, Rene moves us from spiritual love to the many stages of human love.

With First Romance, he tenderly carries us from the first exhilarating moments of falling in love, to the promise of undying devotion in Vous et nul autre and the lovely Forever Yours. Enduring love, the pinnacle of human experience, is sensitively portrayed in Love for all Seasons, while Love Eternal takes us beyond - to the love that endures after life.

A native of Chicagoland, Rene has studied music since he was five years of age. His passion for performance and composition has grown and evolved over the ensuing thirty-two years to bring him to the release of his third CD, Poet of the Heart.Rene's astute development of the relationship between his melodies and instrumentation has become his trademark and is the very foundation of his compositions - deep emotion is the tie that binds.

Poet of the Heart is the offspring of this concept; as in the reciprocal nature of all love relationships, so too, flows the loving relationship between artist and his music.

The entire palette of the loving experience can be found in Rene's diverse and remarkably harmonic album. Rene's melodic piano is enriched by Eric Remschneider's sensitive and lyrical cello. Rene's melodies are so extraordinarily light and airy that the listener feels awareness of being comfortable. His very poetical album allows one to dream about things that are lofty and bright. This is the music of a person who is able to stay open to deep feelings and enjoy life in a world that is too often unfeeling. How did he manage? Listen to Poet of the Heart and you will understand the meaning of "music with an open heart".
