Resistors were formed in 1981 by Jim, Eric, Joe and Lyn. In the early 1980s there was no real “scene” in Central Indiana so the band played mostly private parties. Lyn the original drummer left the band in 1982 and Ken was tapped as the band’s new drummer. At that point Punk music became more widespread and the band played shows in Indianapolis and Lafayette as well as the Columbus area.
After high school, the members went separate ways to pursue their lives, reuniting every so often to look back on times and play the old set-just for fun. When the four all returned to the Columbus area in the mid-90s they set out to write new songs and just have fun. The band spent most of the time on hiatus, however, only playing a show ever couple of years. In 2006, Eric made the decision to pursue other inetests and left the band.
With the Internet making music more accessible to everyone as well as technology now available for “DIY” (do it yourself) projects, the band reformed with long time friends Dano and Doc. At the time of this writing, the band is nearly complete with it’s first full length album, “Damaged, Ugly & Loud.” The project is almost an anthology of material from the bands inception to brand new songs written by the new members.
