Album Notes

The Respectables came together in early 2004 to write and
record a timeless rock and roll record featuring hook filled pop songs with smart lyrics and white hot guitar solos. The Respectables combine equal elements of power pop, glam rock, roots rock, and classic rock to create their version of the truth.

NICK PIUNTI(vocals, guitar) JOE GAYDOS(lead guitar) PETE BANKERT(bass guitar) and DONN DENISTON(drums) mix their many influences into something both familiar and exciting. Recorded at Pete Bankert's "Rock City Studio,"
The Respectables debut is a guitar player's album that never forgets the power of a three minute pop song.

Making a special guest appearance on the record is Joe Gaydos's son, Joey Gaydos Jr. Joey came to national attention starring as Zack in the Jack Black film "School of Rock." Raised on rock and roll, Joey burns the ending guitar solo in the rocking "On My Mind." And he did it in one take! The apple only falls so far from the tree.

Most important for The Respectables was to keep the recording process simple. Great songs, bad ass playing and let the tape roll! What's captured here is a straight ahead pop rock record that's not afraid to let it's roots show.

REVIEWS

A great CD with solid song writting and AWESOME guitar hooks!

A great CD with solid song writting and AWESOME guitar hooks! That about says it for this CD. Always a fan of Joey Gaydos (Mugsy, Cub Koda, Weapons) I went looking for something new by Joey and found this album. It's on the Pop Rock side but original enough to draw you in, and keep you. Second and third listens were more enjoyable than the first. I have it loaned out to a friend right now and he's digging it too. Way to go guys!! Hope there's a follow up in the works.

These days, when you find a good band, you feel like you found hidden treasure, which is a sad statement about today's music and the future of music as we know it. Well all I can say is that X marks the spot on this record by the Respectables. When I first heard this album, I was enamored by the great songs, big hooks, killer guitar solos, and overall badness of the whole CD. It's hard to describe the Respectables, their music is so original, due to Nick Piunti's truely excellent songs. It is evident on this album that the man knows how to write a great pop song, and he can write those songs that sink into you, ones that you'll be singing in your head for the next week. Although the Respectables main man is Piunti, without the fretwork of Joe Gaydos, or the steady beats of Donn Deniston, or even the ultra-cool bass lines from Pete Bankert, this would just be thrown into the heap of all the other great pop songs out there. The group as a whole, create a wall of melody and power, not too wimpy for the hardest rocker, and not too overbearing to the most laid back pop listener. This is a disc for all ages, young and old. So check this one out, give it a listen, and it'll be ON YOUR MIND for years to come. P.S. The guest appearence by Joey Gaydos Jr. is also fantastic, he's deffinitly one to look out for, reports on his site is that he has a new trio. I'm gonna keep up on that!

It's refreshing to hear a band today with a classic rock sound

It's so refreshing to hear a band with a classic rock sound in today's nameless music. Strange As the Truth is a great song that tells a classic rock n roll story.
