Album Notes

RETROLUST is two-man group dedicated to a rebirth of 80's synth-pop through a fusion of modern electronic and industrial music.

RETROLUST stands apart from the crowd with their pure mix of atmospheric swirling synthesizers, industrial noises, smooth beats and ground shattering hooks.

The two members of RETROLUST, GARRETT KAI and TREVOR DENOUNCE met in late 2006 on an online music-posting site. Upon hearing each other's music the two became fans and instantly started collaboration via the Internet. After the completion of their first work together they discovered their sound, method and purpose and formed RETROLUST.

Since then, KAI and DENOUNCE have evolved from solo-songwriters with vastly different musical styles, into a coherent song-producing machine. With the whole new sound to their already strong sonic arsenal, the two soon found themselves with enough material to compile on a CD.

THE BEST!
author: DJDarkBoy
My favorite album of the Retrolust beginning trilogy of discs!! From "Whisper To Me" to "Cranberry Holocaust", there is so much for your ears to enjoy. "Young Lovers" is a sweet song and "Empty & Against the World" sounded like my own issues (in the first verse) of life growing up in a small hick town. They really catch that frustration and awe at life unfolding before a young mind. Get all three albums!

Music as advertised, only better. I love it
author: David Daniel Ball
Bad Reception in name only, this awesome offering by two talented artists is from the 80's synth pop movement, only it has courage lacking in music from those years. I loved each number, but also enjoyed making a video for Hell Inside and Commercial Mentality. I considered a video on Young Lovers, but figured there is already too much material like that, although the music is awesome. ;)

Extremely sharp lyrics sung with a confident voice. Very cool synth textures with modern beats. Edgy moods. Solid production. Excellent on all fronts.

Really Good 1980s revival!

Wow! When the 1980s ended I was biting my nails when synthpop started to die out and here it is again! This is great so much like Depeche and Duran and all the greats! This one is staying in my cd player for a long time!
