Album Notes

"Absolutely Brilliant!!! I could stop here and that would end my review and if I did it would still tell you my thoughts on this release. Brilliant musicianship, songwriting and storyline. I had heard a couple of song clips before and had somewhat of an idea of what to expect, but to my surprise Revelation Project just completely blew me away. With a sound that can most easily be compared to Dream Theater and Symphony X this quintet comes up with an absolute masterpeace. The story behind this release is based on Revelation (End Times) and is almost set in the mindset of a rock opera. Some sprinkling of spoken word and direct passages from the Bible bring life to this project and make it all the more interesting. This Cd will definately be in my top 5 for the year and is a must have for anyone who is into progressive metal with a technical flair. This Cd is also a must have for anyone who enjoys a storyline behind their music ala "Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime" or "Pink
Floyd's The Wall". Do me a favor though and pay attention to the storyline it may save your life and soul. Enjoy this one everyone." ~ ChristianXtreme.com

"If you love progrock like Neal Morse, Kerry Livgren, Dream Theater, Narnia and even some Queensryche you should go to the website of this band and check out their music. They are a christian band in the same vein as the above mentioned bands. Epic songs with lots of keyboards and many changes of pace. The album is a conceptalbum about the biblebook Revelation. Songs like "Falling", "Marked", "Judgement" and the awesome instrumental "Glory" are the highlights of this good cd. The musicians are good and main songwriter Greame Swallow has done a real good job on writing such varied songs. A very enjoyable album." ~ Melodic.net

"Revelation Project is not your ordinary rock band. No, they are a Christian progressive rock band, and they’ll make sure the world knows! This, their first album, is actually a concept album based on the biblical Book of Revelations, and the band’s mission is clear:

“Music is only the vehicle by which we accomplish a larger purpose

I can\'t think of a better way to wake up in the morning than by sticking this CD into the player and getting an earful of symphonics and smashing guitar riffs. This is an excellent piece of work, much like a rock opera, that doesn\'t mince words and cuts right to the heart with its straightforward lyrics. A definite must-have for lovers of prog metal.

Progressive Metal
author: AngelicWarlord.com
Western New York based Revelation Project moves in an unequivocal progressive metal direction on its 14-track and seventy-six minute long independently released self-titled debut. Approaching its art in a very technical and complex manner, Revelation Project possesses a sound certain to appeal to fans of Dream Theater, Shadow Gallery, Symphony X, Threshold, Theocracy, Pursuit and a host of others within the same genre. After being put together in the spring of 2001 by founding members Graeme Swallow and bassist Dave Jonathan, Revelation Project started out as a one-time showcase at the Kingdom Bound festival that same year. Following its debut performance, however, the band decided to continue on with keyboardist Chelsea Wagner, lead vocalist Tom Bender and drummer Russ Stack joining the ranks over the succeeding three years. While Bender might not have the talent to match the likes of Russ Allen (Symphony X) or Mike Baker (Shadow Gallery), he displays good dynamics and range in putting forth a very commendable and emotionally charged vocal performance. Swallow is a talented musician who contributes a rock solid rhythm guitar sound in addition to best displaying his lead guitar abilities on tracks such as "Children" and "Liars". Wagner proves quite the skillful keyboardist, adding just the right amount of texture to the bands sound without coming across overbearing. Stack and Jonathan comprise a tight sounding rhythm section.
