Album Notes

Revmatic seamlessly blends modern rock and old school thunder on their self titled debut and prove once again that rock and roll is alive and well in Kingston. Kicked off by the thundering guitar-heavy crunch of "Two Feet Away" this album is full of tuneful, well thought out and extremely listenable rock songs. "You Know What's Right" is a hot rodded fifties type rock song that even your grandma would sing along with."Seems To Me" and "Wait For It Now" are kick ass rock songs perfect for a high speed rip in your car on a saturday night. No trendy whine ass ballads, no "i hate my father" screams... just straight up rock and roll from a fun loving rock band.

Lead Vocalist/Guitarist Nathan Yetter and Ron Berry's dual guitar attack is one of Kingston's best guitar tandems and that really shows through on the album. Bassist Keith Daigle and drummer Rob Baker (not the guy from The Tragically Hip) are no slouches either, laying down the crushing grooves that power Revmatic.

Kingston, Ontario hard rock-cum-grunge poppers Revmatic kicked off the first couple tracks of this self-release (it's actually from 2002, but I think they're trying to butter folks up for a new album this summer) in rather, uh, old-school Canadian fashion. What I mean to say is, it sorta leaked through my ears, like Coney Hatch or Moxy would, in different, less complicated days. Then they revved things up with "A Million Times Before", a soaring roots-rocker with thunderous drums and crunchy guitars, and it suddenly hit me- Revmatic are the Canuck Soul Asylum. This epiphany was borne out with "Wait For It Now", a sweetly melodic deadringer for a "Hangtime" out-take, and "You Know What's Right", which coulda been the lost single-that-never-was on "Candy From a Stranger". Now, I dunno if Revmatic particularly WANT to sound like mid-career Soul Asylum with a few arena-ready cock rock flourishes, but hey, there's a lotta bands operating with a whole lot less going for them, so why not? Me, I have always liked Soul Asylum - hell, when I was a kid, I loved 'em like disheveled, hippy-ish older brothers- so Revmatic is AOK with me, man. Let their Dim Light Shine, I say.

Sweet track from a solid band!
Finally! A GOOD song with GOOD production. I like this. Immediately I was into this. The vocals are great! They match the music perfectly and he's right on! I hope he's this good live, and I wouldn't let go of him! Guitars now, great tone and nice chord arrangement too! You guys have an original tone, and the overall song is strong, original, and solid. Nice lead guitar work too. The performence from the band on this song is top notch! A well thought out song for sure. GREAT WORK!

a most excellent well written track
There is alot to say about this song, and none of it is bad. the vocals are excellent and it has great understandable lyrics and the song has good hook and arrangement. The guitars kick ass and well as the drummers consistantly tight playing. I want more!!! I'm sold AAAAAAA+++++++

I'm just a mortal man!
Driving rythym during intro! Vocals remind just a touch of Sebastian Bach!! I like the control of the vocals!! Guitars were very cool, they played well together!! GREAT recording! Interesting lyrics!! I like the guitar melodies in the bridge, and solo was well written! Went for solid chops instead of flash!! Not a bad song at all!! I could here this played on the radio!!!!
