Album Notes

Just west of downtown Los Angeles, the Silverlake district is harboring one of the nation's most exciting independent music scenes. Rex Aquarium is one of the bands emerging from this indie hot bed.

Rex Aquarium is fronted by principal songwriter Charlie Wadhams on guitar and vocals. His brother Chris handles bass and backing vocals. Trusty side-kick Wes Thompson is on vintage keys and guitar and "the Unicorn" commands from the drum throne. The band turns it out in the studio and on stage. Post punk exuberance and infectious melody.

Privacy is Rex Aquarium's debut album. Track two, "Alicia" was named in Elle magazine as one of it's top ten picks for summer '04 listening. Track 6, "Please Come Home" has been placed in an upcoming indie film, "Pieces of Eight", due out in 2005. Track 5, "Turn Around" was featured in 2004 on the "The Fold Compilation", along with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the Polyphonic Spree and others. Frank Correia of Radio and Records magazine says, "up 'n' comers like Rex Aquarium... are definitely worth a listen."
