Album Notes

If the illegitimate love children of John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Page, and Roger Waters, formed a band...it might sound like Jim Reynolds' "Suburban Revolution".

Jim's musical vocabulary runs the gamut, traversing various styles of the rock/Indie genres, from catchy and melody infused rockers, to hard hitting funky groove rock, to deeply textured acoustic driven testimonials...all wrapped in a somewhat cynical, yet hopeful, and humorous, view of himself, the world, and the human condition. Obviously, no stranger to pain and love lost, his music paints the picture of an artist with plenty to say, both lyrically and musically. On "Suburban Revolution", Jim's second full length CD, he wrote all of the songs, played all of the instruments except drums and keyboards, and is at the helm as the record's producer as well, carrying his interpretation of the songs to fruition. The record was mixed by well respected, veteran engineer/ producer, Bob Bullock, adding to the rich texture of vintage soundscapes heard here. If you enjoy soulful, honest, and well crafted rock with killer tones...do give this one a listen!

I picked this record up a few weeks ago after happening upon Jim's myspace. Each track is full of thoughtful, well planned lyrics and hooks. From the political tounge in cheekedness of "Mr. Calamity" to the haunting "Elise", this entire record is a great listen.

It doesn't take but one listen to figure out that this guy set out to say something and make some cool music while he's at it. Running the gamut from politics to love to humor, Jim certainly has some thoughts that he successfully put into words and music. Great lyrics and just an entertaining, thought provoking effort all the way around.

A great blend of Rocking music and Sophisticated lyrics

From the opening title track through out the CD, there's a great balance of all out hard rocking tracks, "Free" & "Preacher's Daughter", to the lyrically thoughtful intraspection of "That's All" & "Johari's Window." Jim's song writing draw's you in, entertains you and at times his sophisticated lyrics cause you to pause and smile inward with the political commentary of "Mr. Calamity" or the tongue & cheek story of "She's The One." The subtle energy of "Elise" peaks with a chorus that you can almost see the crowd of fans holding their lighters in the air, as they sing along. Mr. Reynolds wrap up his second CD, with "If You're Feeling Down" an easy going tune letting us know that even if you can't change the world, perseverance and friendship can help you enjoy the ride...
