Once again, Tristan Giallani shows rappers that good hip-hop has no musical bounds. How sad that for the most part, this genre seems confined to the hood or the hip scene, probably because most of the messages are les than uplifting. But if enough of us demanded it, this could change. In this volume of Royalty Free Hip-Hop Beats, we hear rhythms in a variety of musical settings, from rock and jazz to the exotic, to the completely unexpected. In this regard, unlike what I fear would be the reaction of many of my generation, this old dog is not at all offended by the allusions to classical music, including Chaikovsky's Swan Lake. I can only wonder what would happen to hip-hop if some daring young soul could find a way to create an album with a title like, Rap Meets the Classics. Whatever the case, I commend Giallani for what he's done to open this genre to hip-hoppers of any and every musical preference and background.
