Robert Fowler is regularly seen on the British jazz and big band circuit with various ensembles, including Humphrey Lyttleton, The Great British Jazz Band, the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, the Pasadena Roof Orchetrsa, Back To Basie, and as far afield as Bryan Ferry.
Tight Lines is Robert's first album as a featured soloist, and superbly displays the swinging feel and sonorous tone for which he has become known.
Robert Fowler - Tenor Saxophone & Clarinet
James Pearson - piano
Jeremy Brown - bass
Matt Skelton - drums
Andrew Kuc - guitar
Alistair White - trombone
"A wonderful, swinging straightahead CD.....Robert Fowler in typically commanding form."
Humphrey Lyttleton, The Best Of Jazz, BBC Radio 2
"In a career that has included employers as diverse as Brian Ferry and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, this is Robert Fowler's debut CD under his own name. The first thing anyone notices about jis tenor saxophone playing is the tone. It's broad, warm and juicy, a perfect fit for his calm, measured phrasing. The thing that sorts out a really good soloist from the superficially impressive is the handling of a slow ballad, and Fowler's version of 'Polka Dots and Moonbeams' is absolutely faultless. The whole thing is a delight."
Dave Gelly, The Observer, 19th December 2004

Wonderful swingin' music
author: Thomas Treichler, Switzerland
Great swinging tenor-sax with a beuatiful tone, a sensational trombone player and a nimble swinging rhythm section. An easily enjoyable cd; highly recommended.
