On this, Chris' sixth CD, you'll find a collection of blues, rock, jazz and R&B songs. His intention is to pull together elements of his past and present music projects, assembled all on the same stage, under the same roof, so to speak...thus the title, Past Forward. Five of the tunes are new. Several have been on previous releases but have been rewritten, rearranged and newly recorded. Other have only been remixed and remastered using the original basic tracks. Because music is an evolving art form that occurs in real time, Chris felt a few new interpretations of lyrical and melodic components warranted an alternate take. Blues and jazz, in particular, are interpretive by nature, changing their form from performance to performance.
During his months producing this album in the studio, he focused on achieving a consistent sound quality between the old and new compositions, so that the set sits well together as a whole. He hopes that you will find the results enjoyable.
