Rhombus are a Goth Rock act based in the north of England, Mixing male and female vocals with swirling guitars and driving bass. We're more traditional than the missionary position.
We play all over England, venturing up into Scotland and down as far as Somerset and where we haven't been our music has being regularly played in alternative clubs across the United Kingdom and Mainland Europe, stilton might not travel well, but we do.
We've played a lot of good venues, clubs and towns. We've played with some top bands including The Damned and NFD.
2007 heralded the release of our new CD 'Remembrance Day' with support from Resurrection Records, saw our permanent line up expanded to four members, and the new CD receiving airplay as far a field as New York, Chicago, Moscow and Sydney.

That's it! Hold the phones! All bets are off!

That's it! Hold the phones! All bets are off! The 2007 Lyric of the Year competition can close for Rhombus have done it! And the line in question? The magnificent "I'm only randy on the Glenmorangie"! Genius!
Lyrical brilliance aside this record represents a clearing of the decks for this northern based four piece , containing four new songs and six previously released tracks given a brush up . The new sit well alongside the oldies with the pick of them, New Temperance, complete with a catchy hook and Mya on bv's. Indeed the addition of a female vocal across most of the tracks the most notable change to this fifth Rhombus release. Taking the edge off Ed's sometimes harsh vocal Mya + Olivia give the record more depth than we've heard before , nowhere more obvious than the much improved If You Haven't Been Shot You Should Be.
Elsewhere some trusty goth staples are in place; clunky drum machine, swirly guitar doodles and a driving bass. But that's where the obvious goth connections end for me. And praise be for that! There's no room for navel gazing here. No 14 minute repetitive riffs. No, this is catchy, funny, self depreciating and more power to them for that. More new bands should take note; songs about shitting yourself, Follow Through Lover, can rawk!
This lot really come together live and have put the gig miles in playing some of this countries best toilets.
Now with a decent distribution deal in place, via Resurrection, this could be time for Rhombus to take the next step.
Now where did I leave that whiskey??
