Album Notes

This is the story of band---a local garage band that has shared in a lot of heart felt good times with a great many people over the last thirty years. What stared out as a one time solution to a birthday wish some three decades ago has turned into a mobile, almost constant, rolling group therapy session for the band and its co-conspirators, their friends and fans.
Back in June of '73 more than a year before President Nixon resigned our friend, Greg Mohr, wanted to front a Rock & Roll band for his 25th birthday. A few of his friends rented a club and put a band together for the occasion. The party was a great success and a new band was born. The rest is history and the band stayed together for thirty years and two weeks celebrating life and music when and where ever they could get away with it.
Besides Greg (vocal & harmonica) the Chickens consisted of: Chris Hardwick (lead guitar & vocals), Chuck Allen (bass & vocals), Dennis Frank (drums & vocals), and Neil Kingsley (guitar, keyboard & vocals). The rest of chicken coup consisted of Scott Ardis, Roger Haferkamp, Jerry Loyd, Steve Grunder, Jay Gabbard, and Mike Peters. The CD was recorded at Carumbo Recording Studio in Norman, OK. and produced by Neil Kingsley and Mike McCarty.
Over the years there were some additions and departures from the band's lineup. In making the CD every band member was asked to contribute to the recording and happily we got almost everyone of them to pitch in on it. It took a while to record all of the far flung members, but we got it done. The only things missing is the occasional train wreck, but for the sake of the CD that's all right. All it lacks now is a happy crowd (mixed with a few loving cat calls), a dance floor, (maybe a little dance wax) and something to drink; your house will do fine. Thanks, The Amazing Rhythm Chickens
