Rhythm in Shoes was a company of dancers and musicians whose repertoire was rooted in traditional forms of American music and dance from swing tunes & tap to hoedowns & clogging. Directed by choreographer Sharon Leahy and composer Rick Good, the material is at once original and recognizable. From 1987 to 2010, this critically acclaimed body of work infused the spirit of traditional dance and music with a modern sensibility. RIS toured in 47 states as well as Canada, Japan and Ireland, pursuing the company's mission: to engage the world in music and dance.

A founding member of "The Hotmud Family" (see: The Complete Vetco Recordings), Rick Good spent the seventies and early eighties playing bluegrass and old-time country music. His first recording of original songs (see: Nova Town), was released in 1997, and expanded into a full length theater piece which premiered at the Victoria Theatre, in Dayton, Ohio, in the year 2000.

After co-directing Rhythm in Shoes for twenty-three years, Rick continues to write songs, work on new recordings, perform with his wife, Sharon Leahy (see: TrueBlue), and play banjo with the Red Clay Ramblers of North Carolina.
