'80s influenced, fashion-savvy pop a la Simply Red and Spandau Ballet
author: Philadelphia Gay News/ The Sound Q by Robin Renee
"Unveiled.," '80s influenced, fashion-savvy pop in the tradition of Simply Red and Spandau Ballad with a Latino flair, compiles tracks from Alvarado's career from 1993-2003. "Reach My Level Of Love" has keyboard wash bass buzz to bring back early '90s dance memories. Notable are the upbeat "Crazy," new track "Never Gonna Let You Down," with its Culture Club Bounce, and "Comin Down On Me," an ode to a good blow job. The "Lies" club mix kicks it with the heaviest beat, and the liar gets a healthy dose of spoken ridicule. The ballads in English pale in comparison to the Spanish language offerings, "Tu En Silencio" and "El Amor Que No Termina."

Alvarado's intriguing and darkly knowing performance.
author: Billboard / Edited by Larry Flick
Ricardo Alvarado "Lies" (6:25) Producer: Michael LaGennusa Writer: R. Alvarado Publisher: Odracir BMI Remixer: Troy Parrish- Alvarado first introduced "Lies" on his 1993 debut, "Reach My Level Of Love," as a ballad. Smartly reconstructed with a slinky house beat for club consumption, the song takes on greater weight and better suits Alvarado's intriguing and darkly knowing performance. Props to Troy Parrish for his astute post-production. This track could lead to sizable dancefloor success for both him and Alvarado.
