Ricardo Alonso was born in Mexico City. In his childhood he took classical piano lessons for 8 years. After discovering rock and roll, he had some rock bands in high school. What really made him to take music seriously was when he heard the blend of classical and rock music and the use of synthesizers. He went to Berklee College of Music to study mainly composition. After returning to Mexico, he played keyboards with different pop bands, began composing jingles and music themes for TV and radio programs, produced a Cd with his own compositions for a teenage group, and since 1999, after an accident with a broken back, 3 surgeries and chronic neurophatic pain, he decided to focus only in composing in different styles. His previous 4 CD's have received very good reviews and as a member of Broadjam, has positioned about 25 songs in different top tens. On june 2006, he won Broadjam's World/Latin Contest with the song KaniKaniWairua from the Musica Eclectica Album, and right now Sony with his affiliate Acid Planet company, is sponsoring a remix contest with this song. This album, KATHARSIS, is personally the most complete and strong and took almost 2 years to complete it. Each song will make you feel different emotions and it is a blend of instrumental prog rock, new age, jazz, latin, world, electronic and classical music.
