"jazz on the rocks" is Richard Benetar's second CD featuring great standard tunes, mostly from the 1930's, performed by Tucson, Arizona's top jazz players. Richard sings and plays clarinet and saxophone. He is Nat Cole, Artie Shaw and Lester Young all wraped up in one swinging musician. Born and raised in New York City, Mr. Benetar now splits his time between NY and Tucson, Arizona, where he's found a treasure trove of great players in the desert Southwest.
Accompanying Mr. Benetar on this CD are Daniel "Sly" Slipetsky on piano, Ed Delucia on Guitar and Mike Levy on Bass. The first people who got to preview the music couldn't keep their heads from bobbing or their feet from tapping.
Happy Listening.
