New age and electronic sound journeys driven by French Horn. The interference beats alone are enough from the multi-phonic French horn, but multi tracks, both really high and low, that make the weird spacey mood completely unique.

Portal - Solo Multi-phonic French horn
In An Environment of drones & overtones
Avant garde space music
Tracks 1-3 recorded in 2004 Tracks 4-6 recorded in December 2006
Portal is a composition recorded in five track
1 - the solo Multi-Phonic horn (the hornist
sings and plays simultaneously) :
2 & 3 - playing low drones out of tune &
out of synchronization. :
4 - playing a high track which was written
carefully and is created by the mathematic
resultant tones of the solo horn part. :
5 - a high track improvised!
This work is part of Mr. Burdick’s extensive opus 99. This work is from the “dark side” of this set, where his I Ching Arpeggios (also available from CD Baby) is bright, happy and calming.
This work is dark, introspective and thought provoking.
It is based on one hexagram of the I Ching - #48 “The Well” also know as “The Source”, which is what this CD was called in it infancy. The scale used is Bb, Cb, Db, Eb, F, G, Ab, A. This is a moderately normal scale with a minor third and a raised and lowered 7th. Actually a minor 7th and a major 8th!
Each track features a different interval from thirds though eighths. Six tracks all quite similar but each with a subtle intervallic difference.
