Album Notes

1999 OCT award winning "New Male Rising Star" and 1999 award nominee "New Male Vocalist", Richard Burr is traveling in the fast track and there seems to be no end in sight for this talented country singer/songwriter. "Mile After Mile" Richard's debut CD released through Kickin' Dust Music, remained a fixture for over a year on both the Major and Independent European Country Music charts, hitting an impressive #5 on the Independent European Country charts.

Not one to put the brakes on anytime soon, Richard has also been burning up the Internet Country Music charts. Earlier this year Richard's hit song "Whispers in the Dark" landed firmly at the #2 position on the MP3.com country music charts. Richard has been included in both the "Nashville Songwriters Pick the Hits" and "The Best of MP3.com Country" radio shows on MP3. In February 2000 Richard made his European performance debut at a charity benefit outside of Brussels, Belgium as part of a group of independent country artists from around the world coming to the aid of a 2 year old boy in need of life-saving surgery.

Although one may think of Richard as an overnight success story, Richard polished his skills over the years recording and performing with notable Nashville hit writers Randy Sharp and CMA award winner Karen Brooks. Along the way Richard has opened for country music acts Asleep at the Wheel, The Oak Ridge Boys, Joel Sonnier and Jonny Rodruguez as well as performed at the famous Palomino Club in Los Angeles with Nashville songwriter Ed Hill and at the Troubador.

As a regular member of Texas Tornado alumni Louie Ortega's Wild Jalapeno Band Richard put his skills as a drummer to good use blending his love of country music with Latin rhythms and sounds he grew up hearing in the small farming community of Lindsay in the heart of California's San Joaquin Valley.

Passionate music for the common man, stories of hope and promise, Richard's inventive blend of interesting rhythms, electric guitars and thoughtful lyrics clearly reflect his early years growing up in a small town California community. "Touch a Little Heaven" from the new CD "Let it Rain" released in February of 2001, tells the story of a small town family of dreamers who cope with life through their love of music. After years of finding serenity roaming and dreaming in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Richard believes that "there are no dreams that can't come true through the gift of music."
