In September of 2006, five musicians gathered at the Al Kamandjati Center in the old city of Ramallah to play music. Four of them were young Palestinian instrumentalists, and one was a 62 year-old American classically trained bass player, Richard "Dobbs" Hartshorne. They played traditional Arabic music, and classical Turkish music as well as contemporary compositions of Al Kamandjati's director and founder, Ramzi Aburedwan. They gave four concerts in four different cities in the West Bank: The Peace Center in Bethlehem, The National Palestinian Theater Al Kawati in East Jerusalem, The American School in Jenin, and on the roof of the Al Kamandjati Center in Ramallah. The music was recorded live.
