Richard Lawson has been building this magnificent CD for over 3 years now after it spun off from the FTR electronic dance project. An infectious sense of fun spreads throughout the CD and Paradise with its retro Kraftwerk sound and beat has been likened to the Human League. Cover girl is a thumping 60s driven dance rock number with soaring Beach Boy harmonies as is the searing groove of Go Uphill.
Richards previous electronic work has been likened to Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx and the overall thumping beat drives the work.
Porcelain is a slow burning groove not unlike Hot Chip and Transport reminds us of The Cars finer moments...the cd also features the timeless Easybeats classic 'In the land of make believe' which is already recieving airplay on Stuart Coupes covers program on FBI radio in Australia indeed as has 'Paradise'
The cd closes with the surprising brooding lush classical piece Hymn II with Richards searching powerful baritone.
The CD 'Bread and Water' is sure to take your breath away with its kaleidoscope of influences but above all its a fabulous pop album and utterly contemporary.
