Album Notes

This self produced Australian artist is a cross between Ani DiFranco and Bjork and nothing short of mesmerizing.

Her grass roots touring has led to reviews in Australia and Europe. The Australian Bulletin calls her voice "sublime" and her songwriting "exquisite and incisive". Her first written review ever was in American Billboard Magazine where Larry Flick calls her a "strumming rocker with a wonderfully sincere wide eyed delivery".She has just received A 4 star review in Belgium's Rootstown Magazine.Relix Magazine says... "she sings with incredible power and conviction, and surprisingly, doesn't really sound like anyone else".

Lisa sums up her musical philosophy as follows: "I believe in the power of music to express the inexpressible- to affect people, hopefully in a positive way...And the things I write about..it's a witches brew. I never know what's going to come to the surface, but it's an honest expression of who I am - My history, my story...people who listen pick up on that and it gives them permission to have their story- their tragedy, their joy..real everyday stuff that may never make it from the brain to the mouth- or maybe the secrets that never leave the four walls where you live- that's the kind of stuff I write- not intentionally, it's just who I am..."

Performing Songwriter ..."this is not just another whiney-white-chick-with-her-guitar-singing-the-blues.This is Lisa Richards.A voice that doesn't ask for attention, but claims it.From the wilds of Northern Australia where she was born, Richards made her way to Sydney to begin her musical odyssey singing acapella in the cities streets and subways. Her songs are intertwined melodies of pop, alternative, blues and hints of world beat with simple lyrics about love, pain and self-discovery.Her throaty bursts and haunting vocal lines coupled with middleastern "qawaliesque" harmonics leaves her vocal style unmatched". Billboard Magazine...."She has a girlish flair that will initially remind some of Lisa Loeb, though there's a whole lot more to her than mere derivation' Texas Beat...."Richards material as well as her delivery is as good as any of the girl singers on the market including Sarah McLachlan and Tori Amos.Keep an eye(and an ear)out for this rising star" Townsville Bulletin Australia..."Sublime voice and exquisite and incisive songs" Relix Magazine...."Sings with incredible power and conviction, and surprisingly, doesn't really sound like anyone else"
