Lyrics by Marshall Barer; Music by Hugh Martin
Written for a 1960’s musical called “A Little Night Music” and intended to mark Jeanette McDonald’s return to Broadway. The musical eventually premiered in concert form in 1998 as “Happy Lot” with Michael Feinstein, Betty Garrett and Melissa Converse, and was dedicated to McDonald.

Wow, Rich, these are just glorious. Your voice is so melodic and evocative and the partnership with Celia sounds, well, harmonious, such a good match. I'm just overjoyed to think of your blossoming talent after that astonishing day years ago when I first heard you sing a cowboy ballad at Mystery School.
