ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Rich Greenblatt is a Boston based jazz-vibist. He has played in clubs, concert halls, and festivals around the US and Europe. He leads his own group and freelances as a vibist, drummer and percussionist. He currently teaches at the Berklee College of Music.

Hot and Dry was recorded in 2002 with the help of Hide Tokunaga- guitar, Chris Taylor-piano, and the great rhythm section of Dennis Irwin-bass, and Winard Harper- drums. Rich composed five of the tunes on the CD and arranged the other six songs. He plays both vibes and marimba on the recording. New versions of
'Where or When',and 'I Cover the Waterfront'. A 5/4 rendition of
'Isfahan', burning tempos on 'ESP' and 'Woody 'n' You', and a latin version with marimba round out the standards on the CD. Great playing and plenty of solo space for all the sidemen.
