This 16 song album features plenty of ear candy with catchy hooks, lush string arrangments, loads of vocal harmonies, blazing solos, analog synthesizers, energetic drumming, triple tracked guitar harmonies and the classic growl of a Rickenbacker Bass.
2 Part Invention is the creation of award winning songwriters Richie Castellano(bassist for the legendary rock group Blue Oyster Cult) and Andy Ascolese. Their goal was to create a Power Pop album that reflected their virtuosic playing styles. The songs are heavily influenced by their love of the music of the 1980s, and their admiration of composers like J.S. Bach, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Brian Wilson. Between the two of them, they were able to cover the vocal, guitar, bass, keyboard and drum parts. They also augmented their sound by enlisting the talents of several guest musicians. The album took 2 years to complete with Richie and Andy handling all of the production and engineering duties. The result is an album containing 16 meticulously crafted songs with mind blowing arrangements and production.

Awesome Record

There is something for everybody on this great album. My wife & I checked it out since we are big fans of BOC. The music here is nothing similar to BOC at all, and yet, it is a surprisingly tight, refreshing album. Like another reviewer posted, this record \"deserves to be heard\" and the only shame is that it didn\'t see a more widespread release. 2 Part Invention is better than 98% of the stuff being played on popular radio today.

She left a note by the Nintendo, said she was tired of games.....
If Eddie Van Halen were to head over and jam with Phil and Danny of The Rembrandts, they'd want to do covers of these songs.
Fantastic album, great writing, with really great playing and tasty production.
Top notch.

DIE! i guess ill start off my saying these people can play their instruments very very well and blazingly fast (they're not the fastest). the music is very melodious and cleverly crafted as is the whole CD.....no wonder it took TWO years to complete!
