A bunch of stuff that I thunk up at one time or another. Some of it is true, some of it isn't. You decide which is which. It's kind of a folk rock roots thing.

Album Notes

I have been writing songs for over twenty years and have received some measure of acclaim in the Midwest (that's the place you flyover if you go coast to coast). I'd like to think I've got a unique voice, an uncommon viewpoint. Who knows? This is what I do and I guess I'm not going to change.

I've won a few awards for songwriting, if that means anything. One of the songs from this CD was chosen for the Acoustic Rainbow radio sampler and went worldwide to 1200 radio stations. Public radio has been kind to me as a result with airplay in all 50 states. Who knew I'd be big in Alaska? Maybe Alaskans have equisite taste. I also have received airplay throughout Europe and Australia along with several outposts in Asia and Latin America.

My performances include appearances with Buddy Mondlock, Jonathan Byrd, Dayna Kurtz, Patsy O'Brien, Noah Earle, Eva Manek, Mary Alice Wood, the Grace Sisters, and Linda Lange.

As a singer-songwriter, I play acoustic guitar and sing while other cool musicians play stuff to make me sound better in the general vein of acoustic folk, rock, and roots. I'd really like some famous musician to record my songs so I can stay home and play with my dog and write more songs.

If you'd like to encourage my aberrant behavior, you should buy this CD. Repeatedly.

I can't stop!
author: Laurie Daven
I can't stop listening to this one. I also nearly wore out my "Rear View Mirror" cassette from years ago, but this new one is just addictive. My favorite tracks are the newer ones--just goes to show Rich keeps getting richer (creatively, at least)! The lyrics in "Crooked Little Heart" are marvelous, clever. The chorus of "I Don't Want to Lose You" keeps playing in my head long after the CD stops. "Lazy" evokes just that quality in me, which is perfect for a Sunday afternoon on the couch (not so good as an accompaniment for household chores). My only suggestion to Rich: Write More!
