This is a collection of 12 of my solo songs from 4 of my past solo albums dating between 1991 & 1995, and 1 joint album from 1994 with my dear friend Amy Meyers (see her albums at CDBaby), that featured my Rickenbacker 360-12V64 electric 12-string; an early 90's re-issue of the one George Harrison used in the Beatles. A short name for this type of guitar is a "Ricky-12". My nickname is also Ricky... and there are 12 of my songs... Thus, the title "Ricky-12" seemed to have a nice double-meaning.
I was inspired to put this album together after having the great opportunity to meet the gentle Roger McGuinn and his wife Camilla at a local concert venue here in the SF Bay Area in April 2006. I hope you enjoy the "jingle-jangle" of the Rick Pop songs. They are, in a way, in honor of the Byrds and the Beatles sound, in my attempt to preserve that kind of sound/style for the generations before and after.
Love & Music to all. Ricky.

A new Rick Cuevas fan
author: M.Petersen
When I started listening to his CD's it was like Alice falling down the rabbit hole...
taking a trip into the playful, surreal, comical, heartbreaking, sweet, sensual, and very cool world of Rick Cuevas...
getting hooked on tunes like Save It, Love and Colors, When You Are There, Never Replace You, Wickle Chair, The Show Must Go On...
being drawn to lyrics from Notion of Devotion, Take Only What You Need, Nothing is Something, Impact of Your Choices, Normal...
Then there's his vast musical range,
amazing guitar playing,
and his voice....rich, deep, high, low, can't describe it.
So I recommend all his albums including the Zru Vogue stuff by him and Andrew Jackson and their new album coming out soon. More trips for Alice! Ha!

I really love the style and songs. I too am a Byrds/Beatles fanatic, and have been since I was in school in the mid sixties. Again I do love your CD. Hope you make more like this one. Steve Sanders, Texas
