A native and resident of North Carolina, Rick has been an off and on-again musician for more than 25 years. During the day, he is a software developer. Evenings and weekends, he disappears into his home recording studio where he practices, writes, and records with his Taylor guitars and Tascam 788 Portastudio.
His musical tastes span more than three decades with a multitude of influences from progressive rock, folk, rhythm and blues, and contemporary jazz. Second Son, his debut CD, aptly reflects this musical diversity. Critics and friends have likened his lyrical style to fellow Southern artists James Taylor and Mike Cross. He's also a long-time fan of Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, The Pat Metheny Group, Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, and most recently, Billy McLaughlin. He also enjoys listening to sounds of smooth jazz and new age.
His musical goal is to become a regular performing artist within his local area, and hopefully sell lots and lots of CD's.
Some reviews of his music can be found at Gods of Music (http://www.GodsofMusic.com).

Jazz, folk, and blues - so much talent on one CD!
author: Yvonne Fabre
You will love this CD! Duke impresses all with his songwriting abilities. The beautiful instrumentals remind me of Pat Methany style guitar, with the songs' powerful emotional qualities. They let you hear your own spirited dreams. The mind's imagination is set free - this music showed me beautiful wild lands and let me feel the touch of the wind. Duke really shows his skill with the guitiar on this CD- and I loved the vocals! Bull City Blues is a great song and tells it like it is for those of us living in the Research Triangle (NC). "Still you turn me on" is fantastic. The music is genuine and refreshing; so much talent in one CD - I can't wait for his next release.
