Song Lyrics from Rick James debut CD "Workin' On Commission". From the smallest of Churches to the world famous Ryman Auditorium, home of the Grand Ol' Opry in Nashville Tennessee, Rick James has been playing music to the glory of God. Rick began playing guitar as a Sophomore in high school and quickly excelled and in a matter of a few years was opening for acts like Ginny Owens, Sarah Masen, and Lisa Beville. While attending Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville Tennessee, Rick recorded his first CD of all original music titled, “Workin’ On Commission”. Rick also released a second CD titled, "With Empty Hands" shortly after moving to Ohio in 2002 and is in the planning stages for recording another CD in 2007. Rick is also featured on the newly released children’s DVD/CD titled “Little Joseph” (www.golittleleaders.com). Rick James is an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene. REVIEWS

author: Dale Baker
Rick is a solid musician, a fellow artist, and a brother in Christ. You can hear it in his songs and his arrangements and more importantly in the words that he writes. I enjoyed the times he and I played music together and discussed religion, art and the music business. I believe that Rick is a man of deep courage, convictions and belief. I believe Rick possesses an empathy that allows him as a performer to adapt to his surroundings in order to best serve the needs of the audience or congregation. I feel that Rick is able to minister in the moment with timely words of encouragement, wisdom and spirit - due in part to his continuing journey as an artist, musician and man of faith."
